Event Q & A
1. What is pickleball?
Pickleball is a fun, fast-growing sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. It’s easy
to learn, social, and great for all skill levels. Note that this event is indoors.
2. What if I don’t know how to play pickleball?
No problem at all! This event is beginner-friendly and will kick off with a short instructional clinic led by
experts. They’ll walk through the basics, rules, and gameplay before open play begins. Many attendees will
be new, so come ready to learn, play, and have fun—no experience required.
3. Do I need to bring my own paddle or equipment?
Nope! Paddles and balls will be provided. If you have your own paddle, feel free to bring it.
4. What are the best shoes to wear?
Wear athletic sneakers with good support and grip—tennis or court shoes are ideal. Please avoid running
shoes (like HOKA) with overly soft soles, sandals, or open-toed shoes.
5. What should I wear?
Comfortable athletic clothing you can move in is best. Think breathable tops, shorts or leggings, and layers if
needed. Pickleball is active, but not overly intense.
6. How competitive is this event?
This is a social, community-focused event. Games will be friendly and fun, with a mix of skill levels. Whether
you’re here to play casually or bring your A-game, you’ll fit right in.
7. Will there be food and drinks?
Yes! All tickets include food and unlimited beer, wine, wine cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks, so you can refuel, relax, and socialize between games.
8. Can I come alone or do I need a partner/team?
You’re welcome to come solo! We’ll rotate players and help match people up so everyone gets plenty of play
time and is with their own level.
9. How long is the pickleball portion of the event?
The event is 3 hours and you can basically play as much or as little as you want. You’re free to jump in and out
of games, enjoy food and drinks, and mingle at your own pace.
10. What if I just want to watch and socialize?
That’s totally fine! You don’t have to play to enjoy the event. Come hang out, cheer people on, and soak up the
atmosphere.
11. What is the schedule like?
Doors open at 6pm so plan on arriving then. Clinic will start by 6:30pm. There will be a short presentation
around 8pm and the event ends at 9pm with a raffle call and dessert.
12. Is this a 21 years and over event?
Yes. Because of the open bar, this is for attendees 21+ only.
13. What is parking like?
There are parking structures- Parking Structure 1 off of 4th street and 2 off of 2nd street. You can also use
rideshare so you can enjoy the open bar.
14. Is there space for my bag or coat?
There are limited benches and seating for you to leave your bags. It’s best to bring only what you need!
15. Is there a cut off day for sponsorships?
No cut off, and we appreciate sponsorships at any time! BUT event signage recognition closes on Sunday, April 12th. Sponsors confirmed after that date will be recognized on our digital channels (social media and event website) only.
